Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to play?

One person can typically warm up and play 18 holes in an hour or less; a foursome will take 2.5 – 3 hours. The world-class Trackman software also offers several games that will fit whatever time you have booked, including Capture the Flag, Closest to the Pin, and Bullseye. Sessions are blocked for 50 minutes allowing 10 minutes to transition from one group to the next.

Why shouldn’t I just go to my local driving range?

Your local range is a great option – for warming up right before a round.  Otherwise, Pure Golf is a much better choice when you consider:

  • If it’s raining, snowing, or the middle of the night, your local range won’t be open.
  • While summer in Utah is beautiful – it’s also hot.  And winter is cold.
  • Besides the fact that many balls are scuffed, warped, or cracked, most range balls are what they call, “limited flight.”  Meaning you won’t be getting an accurate picture of your distance or ball flight.
  • Your local range doesn’t tell you club and ball speed, angle of attack, spin rate or any of the 26 data points you received immediately on each swing.
  • Finally, there’s a lot to be said for being able to practice that new grip in private without worrying that your power fade will send on over into the parking lot.
How accurate are your simulators?

If you’ve ever watched Tour Pros warming up before a tournament, you may have noticed the orange, Trackman units directly behind most of them. The proprietary, dual-radar Trackman technology provides more than 26 data points from every swing in real-time. When knowing whether your PW flies 120 or 125 yards could mean the difference in a million-dollar payout, the Pros turn to Trackman, and so should you.

Can I bring my own food & drinks?

Absolutely. While Pure Golf does not sell food, our private rooms provide ample counter space and plenty of room for your group to relax while you enjoy your favorite food or snacks. Each room includes a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary bottled water from one of our Corporate Sponsors. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.

How does putting work?

By default, the system will finish your putts for you once you land on the green. Putting percentages use PGA Tour averages based on distance and slope (for example, inside 8’ you will 1-putt 80% of the time). If you’d like to finish out your own putts you can do that too. Just putt just like normal on the putting surface between the tee box and screen. And hope your percentages are as good as the Pros.

How many people can play at one time?

We typically recommend 6 or fewer if you are playing a round of golf. If you are looking for a fun activity for a family or group, our private hitting rooms are large enough (at 20’x40’ they are some of the largest in the state) to accommodate 10 or more as you rotate hitting or playing games. Our membership levels can accommodate single players or the unlimited membership allows you to split the cost with friends and bring as many as you’d like. Check out the options here (link to membership page)

Can I bring my family?  Would this be a fun date?

YES and YES! Pure Golf isn’t just for scratch golfers. The facility offers several fun games perfect for mixed groups. You must be 18 years or older to book a time and guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Can I buy a gift card or punch pass for someone?

Yes.  Our punch passes allow you to purchase a block of hours which can be used anytime within 12 months.  They are a great way to experience Pure Golf for yourself and the perfect gift for that special golfer in your life.  Grab one now! (link to purchase)

I’m a new golfer with a high handicap just learning to play, is Pure Golf right for me?

Absolutely. In fact, Pure Golf is probably the best way to start. First, you will easily see what your swing mechanics are doing correctly (or not so correctly) and know what to work on. Second, the private hitting areas at Pure Golf provide a safe environment for you to learn without having to worry about others watching your “power fade.”  Our facility also offers games and fun for families and groups. Come try for yourself!
